Venus

This is a false-color mapping of the surface of Venus. The Magellan spacecraft spent four years mapping Venus using an imaging radar technique. Brown represents mountains, while blue represents valleys.


This is an image from the Russian Venera 13 lander which parachuted to the surface of Venus on March 1, 1982. The lander is visible in the lower right of the picture.
